The Renaissance Mile and DHC.
1 mile, solve a Rubik's cube, drink a 40oz of malt liquor, dunk a basketball on a 10' rim, eat a pint of ice cream, any order...
Best known effort: rumored to be 29 minutes
Anyone remember the DHC (Dining Hall Classic) from Cornell?
Full sprint between: RPU (Entree, Drink, Dessert), Balch (Entree, Drink, Dessert), Risley (Entree, Drink, Dessert), Jansons (Entree, Drink, Dessert), Oakenshields (Entree, Drink, Dessert), Barton Hall for a Happy Meal, Quarter mile at Schoellkoph Stadium.
DQ for running in dining hall, puking in dining hall...awards for most weight lost, most weight gained, and the Clidesdale award for the first person over 200 lbs to finish...
Pete Ippel (first non CC guy finished)
49:52 1999
Record holder Max King, obliterated Doug Krisch's record, rumored to be in the high 20min range...learned from Nathan J (sting poompser) how to ride into Oakenshields from the Ivy Room to get a free meal...subsequently banned on campus, likely cause, Max King's breaking of the glass on Willard Straight halls doors, or the 50+ frozen piles of chunder the following November morning...
STING IT!
