So I just got back from Berkeley, the day turned out to be pretty awesome, as the rain held off, and the sun shone for a bit...

I however didn't jump 6'10" as I had hoped.

1.87 1.92 1.97
xxo xxo xxx

The biggest thing was not pain in the ankle, but a severe case of puss-iteis on my part...I kept *thinking* it was going to hurt, and changed my approach, when every time I jumped there was no pain at all...weird.

So, I think with another week of rehab, and coaching from Taylor, I'll be up high again for the UCI meet.

I've jumped really well before there 6'10" 1/4 senior year...(2001)

I'm so looking forward to seeing Nate, Paddy Mc D, Pelle Pell, Slacks, JP, Idaho, EP, T-Rav, Coach Taylor, Billyk-style, Artie, Lou-Daddy, Morgan, Aly, Sarah, Stacey, Alyssa...basically most of the crew...

To the Sting Poompsters on spring breaks elsewhere...

~~~**a big happy sting it to you!!!**~~~
Things are moving quickly and positively with the ankle, I walked today almost free from pain, I'm going to start contrast baths tomorrow, and I want to give a huge Team Sting Poomps shout out to Chad, for coming through in the clutch...thanks for everything bro!!!
In other news, I'm for sure coming down to SoCal...I'll be around from the 21st to the 27th ( I leave at 6:50 am Sunday morning...so it may be an all nighter...) Hopefully I can convince the official to let me jump at Long Beach.
I'm stoked to see those pics of Pizzle and Paddy...Mc.D
I'm going to miss you guys at Irvine the first weekend of break, I'm staying up here and going to try and hit the goal at Bay Area Blastoff...If I warm up and can't press the turn, I may just rehab another week and catch up with you at Long Beach...
I found this http://www.caltrack.com/news/calallcomers022605.html so you can see it in print besides mine...I emailed Keith Conning, the author of the article and told him about Team Sting Poomps, so hopefully we'll get a few more visitors...
In other news, this is what it looks like
I have my own dunk tank and thera-band station, and have been spending days RICE-ing all the time, and playing video games...I have a call into Chad, and he left me a message to call him back...so I can figure out what to do to rehab *FAST*...
See you in a few weeks.
Ok, so I haven't posted in a while, honestly I was waiting until 7', but it's taking to long. I'm ready for outdoor, seeing that I have jumped once, Heps, in the past 4 weeks. I'm pissed about IC4A's, that was the worst competition in a while, and I know i would have placed well. Here are some Heps pictures of me and Paddy:
Easy clearance by McD.
I'm pretty sure this is 6'9'', first attempt obviously.
I don't know the heights on mine, but they look like decent jumps, so I think they were 6'10.25'' and 6'11.5'', which i obviously didn't make, but I looked like complete asshole from 6'5'' to 6'9''.'
We better all be ready to jump high in Cali, sunny, clear skies, warm weather.....
I'm a bit grumpy, I was playing basketball last night, and sprained my left ankle. I was fouled and landed on another guy's foot, and then sat on my own ankle, and basically spilled onto the floor after that...
The first question that the doctor asked was "Did you hear anything pop?"
I replied, "I don't know, I was too busy screaming..."
On Pete's pain threshold chart it was a definitive 10 when I did it, and then subsided to about a 4 by the time I got to the ER. After the X-ray, I found out nothing is fractured, but I do have a bit of "Schmootz" on the inside...I guess that's the technical term for 14 years of high jumping on the same side...
Luckily I've never hurt it before, so I plan on a quick recovery, and I intend to jump again on the 19th at Berkeley and again at Long Beach the following weekend.
I've heard of fast recoveries from sprains, so I'm going to ice like a champ.
The goal of 2.06 by March 31 still stands.
