So this spring http://www.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gifbreak CU HJ held it down with Sarah over 6' and me over 7'. On my 29th attempt over 7 feet of my high jump career, I finally made it over. I hadn't PRed since January of last year (a 14 months or 421 days span), which made it even sweeter. It was wierd last weekend when I made 2.10m no touch to open up the outdoor season. I knew it was good to hit Regionals early, but that was the first time I was legitimately disappointed with "only" clearing 2.10m. Before this weekend I had been over 6'10 7 of 10 meets (don't worry about Heps). It's nice to know you can go out and compete, but getting that next height in is awsome. I've played out the jump in my mind hundreds of times, but how sweet it is.
It was awsome to hang out and compete with Spyke, holding it down with 2.00m, I was impressed.
Ippel man, I wish you were there. I'm sure Rome is treating you well. It's nice knowing I'm sharing a place next to Cornell's best high jumper.
Now I just need to prove I can do it again.
Anyway, here it is: http://people.cornell.edu/pages/dgp27/2.15david2.MOV

Sharing the top...
...likely won't last long, David Pell jumps 2.15 meters at UCI, with a young season, and a whole lot of potential...Pizzle get those videos up as soon as possible. It's good to share...now take it, and make sure coach Taylor saves my little name plate and sends it to me in San Francisco.

In other news, it's great to see Spyke competing again...way to get over 2m bro...keep it up...Rome is great, and I'm not going to jump out here, I can't find a meet, I'll get going when I get back to the states.

It's beautiful here, pics on http://www.hypermodern.net/blog

BTW, what's the status on Paddy Mc D's injury?

Cali Meet One...
Wish I was there for this one, to see Sarah's 6'0" jump...I know she's going to go higher before she's done (and yes I called that years ago).

Candace Parker
Two dunks vs. Army, a McDonald's All American Slam champ, and she's from Illinois...

Must be something in the water there that breeds jumpers...

2nd at IC4A's is pretty sweet, but it's still not what I wanted to jump. 7' has elluded me for yet another indoor season, so time to put some more work into it. Cali has always treated me well, I definately want to hit Regionals, 2.10m, early and keep shooting for 7. That's it, 3 prelims to go, then sunny California sweetness....

2nd at IC4A's
Booyah, finally getting a little height going...Pizzle are you going to be able to jump to get into NCAA regionals?

In my news, T&F has started for me as a coach out here, so far nothing in the pits, just conditioning...first meet is Thursday.

Go Big Red.
