NCAA Preview...
Quality high jumping is always a spectator treat, and the men’s field looks to be one of the finest ever. Defending champion Jesse Williams of USC, Andra Manson of Texas and UTEP’s Hakany have all cleared at least 7-6 this season.

DAVID PELL IS GOING TO THE SHOW!!!
With the last HJ bid of the country Pizzle will be jumping Wed. June 7th...

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

From Artie Smith's Cornell University Track list Email...
In addition to four Big Red athletes already qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Sacramento, the NCAA announced that two more Cornellians have been accepted into the meet! Senior Emily McCabe in the 5000 and junior David Pell in the high jump received at-large invitations and will join senior Jamie Greubel (heptathlon), juniors Sarah Wilfred (high jump) and Morgan Uceny (800) and sophomore Rayon Taylor (triple jump), all of whom had already qualified!

McCabe's 11th place finish of 16:28.12 at the Regional Meet in Greensboro this past Friday propelled her to a coveted spot in the field in Sacramento. Likewise, Pell's top-10 finish at the Regionals secured him a spot in the at-large pool; his clearance of 7-0 1/2 on March 25th secured him a spot in the national championships.

This is one of the biggest contingents Cornell has sent to the outdoor championships in recent years and the team will have a busy week. The meet begins Wednesday, June 7 at Sacramento State (home of last year's NCAAs as well as the 2000 and 2004 Olympic Trials) and concludes Saturday, June 10th. Uceny will be Cornell's first competitor of the week, running the first round of the 800 Wednesday, June 7th with semifinals on Thursday and the final on Saturday. Qualifying in the men's and women's high jump is also Wednesday afternoon, so Pell and Wilfred will compete the first day of the meet as well. That Wednesday evening, McCabe will run in the first round of the 5000. Both the high jump and 5K finals are on Friday. Also on Friday is the first round of the men's triple jump and Day One of the heptathlon, so Taylor and Greubel will begin their competitions then and conclude on Saturday.

Eve King, one of the students I coach in Basketball and in HJ has PR'd by 4 inches last week (5'6") and made the state finals (5'4") this week...Congratulations go to her, and best wishes, next weekend!!!

Now let's get 5'8!

NCAA East Regionals
Pizzle, good luck this weekend...I believe.

Basketball loss, outlook good
So, I know 11 guys is a lot to get everyone minutes, and I also know that not everyone will be able to make every game...

Let's try and get some playing time together theese coming weeks, I know there are games at the Presidio YCMA Monday at 5pm, Tuesday noon-2, Thursday noon-2, Sat. 8:30-11am, Sunday 9-noon...

So meet up, enjoy, and lets get ready for next week...

Two coaching things, more shots lead to more rebounding opportunities, and an open floor (even when the opponent has a lot of big guys)will facilitate pick & roll and single coverage...

I know we can win this league...

STING IT!
