Team Sting Poomps Victorious at UCI Invitational

Winning for the second week in a row was David Pell '07, who cleared 6-8 3/4 in the high jump. Pat McDonough '06 was third at 6-6 3/4 and Pete Ippel '01
leaped 6-4 3/4 for seventh. Nate Jauvtis '99 was fourth in the pole vault at 14-11. On the women's side, Sarah Wilfred '07 was second in the high jump at 5-8 3/4, Shonda Brown '05 was second in the 400 hurdles with a run of 61.45, Jessica Brown '05 was third in the 800 in a fine 2:09.24 and Natalie Whelan '03 competed well in the 1500 to place ninth in 4:40.16 in her first track race in five years.

So today at Kezar Stadium in San Francisco, CA two of my jumpers had great days, learning how to truly get their knee drive up, and building off a proper negative angle , which translated into great rotation.

2007 USATF Club Championship Series to offer $65,000 in prize money

TSP Athletics...I'll keep you posted here about developments as I try to get us recognized...

Clubs wishing to participate in these events must be registered 2007 USATF member clubs. Additionally, each athlete must be a 2007 USATF member and affiliated with their club as part of their USATF membership. Clubs should contact their local USATF Association to confirm their club's and athletes' eligibility. Association contact information is available on the USATF website at http://www.usatf.org/associations/

As USATF expands the Club Championship Series, it will look to grow the events with enhanced promotional opportunities for sponsors and added support for clubs.

I know everyone has to be a USATF member first...so take care of that on your own...then affiliate with TSP Athletics...

CU = 2007 Ic4A CHAMPS!
Amazing, Cornell has has a Heps champ in the HJ and TJ, and different IC4A champs in the same events. While we cleaned up in the HJ, no 2.17 performances, so we'll have to wait to go to the big show outdoors. We will be represented though in Arkansas in the TJ.

CU HJ Stung it at Heps, though CU did not sting it at the meet. Disappointing 3 pt loss to Princeton. 1,2,5 in the HJ and some sick performances all over for us, we just needed one more...

Heptagonal Games Are Fast Approaching

I've still not had an opportunity to jump since Dec. though I'm happy about that because my basketball team is doing very well...keep up the good work fellas...and I'll post results when I get a mark. I think 2.03 is a good spring goal. I definitely will be competing at Air Force this summer to get back my championship at the State Games of America in Colorado Springs.

Senior co-captain David Pell led the way with a seasonal best in the high jump, equaling his indoor PR and the #3 performance in school history with a clearance of 6-11 (and an IC4A qualifier). He led a 1-2-3-4 Big Red sweep of that event as sophomore Garrett Huyler (6-7), sophomore Jim Smith (6-7) and freshman Jay Pierce (6-5) also scored.

so track season is just about to start for us old people. my first meet was supposed to be last week, but UH decided to cancel the meet due the account of them being retarded. im looking forward to the cornell cali trip. for now, im lifting/running as much as i can.
